Getting To Nazani Restaurant

While searching for a cozy and aesthetic restaurant near Yerevan, I stumbled upon Nazani Restaurant, and wow, what a find! Located just 30 kilometers from the city center in Sasunik village in Aragatsotn Province, this spot isn’t just any restaurant—it’s part of the Armenia Wine Factory, the largest wine production facility in the country.Getting to the restaurant was not that difficult. All you need to do is grab a car or a taxi and head towards Ashtarak city. From there, you’ll make your way to Sasunik village, a charming little place known for its vast vineyards and rich wine production

What to expect? Tasting Traditional Khash!

Here’s what makes it special: you can simply book a table and enjoy a delicious meal, or you can go all in and sign up for their 3-hour guided tour. The tour takes you through the wine factory, includes a visit to the Wine History Museum of Armenia, and wraps up with an authentic traditional lunch or dinner at Nazani. It’s the perfect blend of culture, history, and food—ideal for a day out with family or friends. Well, the factory itself is another huge topic that I will cover in my future posts but as for now let’s talk about my culinary experience at Nazani Restaurant.

Talking about the food! The chef, Tigran, is a genius in the kitchen. He’s famous for his creative and absolutely mouthwatering dishes. Whether you’re a fan of traditional local flavors or love trying something new, you’ll leave with a happy stomach and big smiles.

The restaurant itself is a dream for anyone who loves snapping photos. With its stylish and beautifully designed interior, you’ll want to capture every corner. And trust me, the food presentation is just as Instagram-worthy.

During my visit, I had the chance to try khash, a hearty traditional dish that’s perfect for colder weather. The table was beautifully set with colorful, decorative side dishes that added an extra wow factor to the whole experience. The khash itself? Absolutely rich, flavorful, and comforting—exactly what you’d expect from an authentic local meal. You probably know that khash is made from cow or sometimes pig hoofs, and it requires special techniques to make it right. Well, here, they know exactly how to do it!

Armenia vodka

The strong drink we were treated to!

And since we were at the Wine Factory, it only made sense to try their famous Armenia Vodka. The vodka was really strong (around 40% alcohol) and had a unique flavor. It’s not that I’m a regular vodka drinker—usually, I prefer wine—but this one was so smooth and enjoyable. I even had 3 shots of it and totally enjoyed the experience. It added an extra layer of fun to the meal and was the perfect way to wrap up our visit to the restaurant.

Why you should also have this experience?

Having explored so many places across Armenia, I can confidently say that Nazani Restaurant is one of the best. From the food to the atmosphere to the warm, friendly service, everything here is top-notch. Whether you’re planning a special occasion, a day trip, or just a casual meal, this place is worth the visit.

Long story short, Nazani Restaurant is one of the best options for a day trip from Yerevan while touring Armenia. First, it’s conveniently located just 30 kilometers from the city, making it an easy and quick getaway. Second, they offer a fascinating guided tour of the Armenia Wine Factory, complete with a visit to the Wine History Museum. And of course, you can enjoy a wine degustation paired with delicious meals that will leave you satisfied. It’s the perfect combination of culture, history, and great food—everything you need for a memorable day trip!
